Google Adsense, My First Payment to DBS account

I did not cash out my google adsense account all that long mainly due to I find that credit to western union is so troublesome where I will need to travel down to out of the Western Union Outlet to collect the money.
Last friday, I was surprise to see that now google adsense have the facility to credit to Singapore bank. Hence I tried that out and enable the payment by following the DBS inwards tele transfer steps from below.  (retrieve from DBS website, for updated steps, please refer back to DBS bank website)
What information will my remitting party require to pay me via Telegraphic Transfer?
Your remitting party will require the following information:
  • Beneficiary name: Your company name as registered with DBS
  • Beneficiary's account number: The number of the account in which you would like to receive the funds
  • Bank Name: DBS Bank Ltd Singapore
  • DBS SWIFT Bank Identifier Code (BIC): DBSSSGSG

Total google adsense account is USD109.79 (SGD 155.52) and today DBS foreign exchanged rate is 1.4188.  I make the request for the transferred on 26 Sep and received the $ in my DBS saving account on 28 Sep under code ITT (Inward Telegraphic Transfer).

There is a SGD 10 of handling charged by DBS bank. (as you can see from 2nd screenshot below, account details for my DBS bank account).

Enjoy earning.. Will share more in another post on how to setup DBS account as payout account for Google Adsense.

SHARP Air Purifier FU-A28E

Recently the annual haze issue hit again to Singapore due to forest burning in neighbour country.
l was down with cough and feverand took 2 days medical leave. PSI was pretty high above 110-130. So I decided to buy a simple air purifier, thinking at least for my sleeping time my body will not be burden withthe dirty airand able to rest.
So I bought this SHARP Fu-A28E. Light and looks handy by paying SGD l21. Original priCe was 159, but I was quite lucky tohave coupon on hand. Chaage coupon $8, Coupon $10 and 10,000 Q points($10) and all this make up I only need to pay $120.
Happy with my purchase and hope this help for my bedroom air quality.
Happy shopping! Hope the haze will be gone soon.

Passive Incomes

Recently I was busy with my house stuff. Yes, owning a place I call home.
After ste down with 'homes' now again, I am searching how can I increase my passive $.
As usual, I will start to ask my best friend "google".
Read afew articles and I am quite surprise to find that some articles/ blog started to list out credit card cash rebate and air mile earning from credit card as passive income.
MY definition for passive income looks slight different from those articles. For me, the cash rebates and mileage is part of daily saving stuff but not passive income. You cant have early retirement with that. You have to spend in order to get that 1%-2%rebates. So i went to google again, ask to define the word "passive income". Here is what I get: " passive income is an income received on a regular basis with little effort required to maintain it ." Hmm, this sounds confusing. so I google againand found the definition from investopedia.com "Earning an individual derives froma rental property, limited parnershipor other enterprise.in whichhe or she is notmaterially involved."  This sounds more relevant which my understanding.
For me, l Can choose and there is a stable stream of Income flowing in to feed my family andmyself. By spending with my credit card and getting that tiny of cash rebates cannot support me financially but putting myself in risk of getting loan from bank.
what is passive incomes ? what consider as passive income?
Example: Renting one of the extra room out . You still have a place to stay, you house loan taking care by your CPF,  the$ you get from rental is an extra . You can use that to pay up your loan So that you can be debt free earlier, or you can buy yourself a gift or use topay utilities etc. Idealy, its always good to use that money for investment, earn yourself more $ instead of spending them. Alwaysremember the power of compound interest.
I hope that no one will treat that rebatefrom credit card as a passive income and in order to get more rebate, they spent more and ended up in bigger rolling debt.
Well, looks like I have to continue searching for others passive income.

Any current monthly passive income=500 (Rental)
still far for away from my target!!!

Happy hunting !

DIY light bulb with plug in Singapore

I was trying to build a light box for my plant. To build a light box , of course l need light . But where to get one? Buying one is easy but building one is more challenging and fun.
After trying placeslike home-fix, socall the diy store, Iam kind of giveup. The so call DIY store dont have the part I need. Ended up I hare to run a few stores to get all the parts .
Here are some photos to share .Toth cost SGD1O. 60 .
Cable = SGD1.50 (1metre)
Cord = SGD2.50
PLUG=sgd1.70
Philip light bulb 5w=sgd4.90

I belive the cost can be lower if you can get the items in cheaper price as i got all from here and there convenient  stores so price is higher.

Enjoy diy. Later on will share on my light box for my indoor vegetable  planting project

Zoo Singapore 2015

Had a chance to visit zoo Singapore yeaterday free with the POSB Passion card celebrating SG50 ticket redemption.
(for the promotion, visit posb website)

Visited Omar, the white tiger, Inuka, the polar bear and watched a few animal shows as well.

I like the concept that they are having to highlight the natural issue like global warming through out the show and encourage people to go for recycling 'reduce, reuse and recycle'

It's one of the fun park to go, Singapore Zoo, a place that you don't want to miss when you visit Singapore.

Jenny Bakery @Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

Jenny Bakery, one of the must buy pasalubong (sovenior) to your friends, family or yourself.

The store just two streets away from where I stayed during my trip to zhong Kong about two weeks ago, hence I decided to pay a visit to the store. Sheung Wan outlet are located at 15 Wing Wo street (Exit E2 MTR), if you take tram should alight at Gilman street stop.

The store should be open at 10:00am and we reached there about 9:30am and look at the queue, there are about 30 peoples in front of us. Waiting patiently until the store open at 10:00am and the female boss standing in the door steps controlling the traffics. Around 10 people only allowed to enter the store each time.
There have several selections of cookies but that day only left the 4 variety cookies set, small is HKD70 and big can price is HKD130. What's the different between big and small? Well small can is only have one layer of butter cookies which big size have two.

How's the taste of cookies and why so many people buy this? Well, you have to taste it. Once you open the can, you can smell the nice butter cookies aroma and the cookies melt in your mouth. It's perfect match with tea or coffee.

Must try!!  Highly recommanded.

Please beware of the unathorised store. Jenny bakery only have two outlet as below:

a) 15 wing wo street, sheung wan
b) 24 ground floor, mirador mansion,54-64 nathan road, tsim sha tsui (MTR exit D2)

The official company website : http://www.jennybakery.com

If you walk along the street at Tsim Sha Tsui, you can easily spotted a lots of sign showing bears cookies available (小熊饼), well those not the authentic and not from Jenny Bakery. Since you already decide to spend the money, why buy the 'fake' one.

Singapore notes with prosperity symbol, 福禄寿到!

Recently I notice something on Singapore notes. The prosperity symbol.
As you can see for the previous version (the boat series), the notes printed with dragons, mandarin ducks etc that represent the prosperity of the country. But the current version of the notes, it consist of the modern printing such as educations, sports etc. where is the chinese prosperity element?
Look at the number and you will see them.

SGD2, half filled up with the symbol bats, in feng shui, bats means good health. 碌 in chinese.

SGD5, the number half filled with the symbol longevity peach. 寿 in chinese.

SGD10, the number half filled with old Chinese coins which represent money. 福 in chinese.

I guess the symbol is printing up side down means 'reached' in chinese 到。 which means the longevity is reach, money and prosperity is reaching. Hehehe.

So I guess if you keep one piece of sgd2, sgd5, sgd10 in your pocket, you have the 福禄寿!!

Just my own guessing, this does not means anything. Enjoy the design of the notes :D

Nadeje @ Mahkota Parade Melaka

Visited Nadeje at Mahkota Parade in one of the weekend getaway to Melaka. The place is not inside the Mahkota Parade but outside. We were trying to walk around inside the mall few times and finally give up and decide to approach the information counter. (we should have done that before to save time). We ordered 3 slices of the mille crepe. (a) Brown Sugar Melaka, (b) Chocolate banana, (c) Tiramisu
Surprisingly the place is about 90% full and the mille crepe is not cheap of cause. Even the ice water charged.

We do enjoy the mille crepe but honestly I am not a sweet tooth person, hence after a few bite I find it them too sweet and make me feel full especially for the chocolate banana and tiramisu flavour. Surprisingly Gula Melaka (Brown sugar melaka) flavour not so sweet and my friend told me that only available in Melaka.

One of the good to try place in Melaka. Enjoy !
